Prysm, one of Ethereum’s most widely used consensus clients, shipped a last-minute patch on Oct. 5 so validators can automatically propose blocks with a 200 million gas limit when the Glamsterdam upgrade’s Sepolia test activates. The Prysm v7.2.1 release adds the Sepolia gas-limit schedule, meaning operators need no manual configuration before the fork set for 13:53 UTC on Oct. 6.
The update closes a gap left by the previous version. Prysm v7.2.0, released on Sept. 28, scheduled the fork but did not include the gas-limit change, so validators running it would have kept producing blocks at Sepolia’s old 60 million gas default and diluted the capacity test. Version 7.2.1 defaults validators to 200 million gas automatically.
