Bitcoin Leads 30-Day NFT Sales, Outpacing 24 Blockchain Competitors

While sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have declined by over 38% in the past 30 days compared to the previous month, NFTs minted on the Bitcoin blockchain have dominated, accounting for more than 44% of sales. Statistics from the last 30 days reveal that four of the top five best-selling NFT collections all stem from the Bitcoin blockchain.

Bitcoin’s Dominant Influence on NFT Sales Continues

Bitcoin continues to advance in the realm of NFTs, having outperformed 24 unique blockchain networks over the past 30 days, including Ethereum. According to data from cryptoslam.io, Bitcoin-based NFTs have amassed $3.43 billion in total sales, positioning Bitcoin in fourth place behind Ethereum, Solana, and Ronin.

Bitcoin is getting closer to overtaking Ronin’s all-time sales figure of $4.26 billion. From March 27 to April 27, 2024, Bitcoin logged $457.62 million in NFT sales, with only $716,035 potentially linked to wash trading. Ethereum secured the second spot with $262.37 million in sales during the same period, while Solana recorded $165.14 million in NFT sales, ranking third in terms of sales volume.

Over the same 30-day period, the most expensive NFT sold was Cryptopunk #635 on Ethereum, fetching $12.41 million. The top sale on the Bitcoin blockchain was Bitcoin Ape #2,301, which went for $459,436. This NFT is a byte-accurate transfer of the original Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) to the Bitcoin blockchain through Ordinals. Following Bitcoin Ape #2,301, eight other sales ranged from $254,062 to $354,801 each, all belonging to the Bitcoin Puppets collection.

In the past 30 days, four of the five highest-selling NFT collections were from the Bitcoin blockchain. Uncategorized Ordinals led with $152 million in sales, followed by Bitcoin Puppets at $71.84 million, WZRD digital collectibles at $34.81 million, and Nodemonkes compilation at $34 million. Mythos’ Dmarket NFT collection ranked fifth, capturing $28.6 million in sales, cryptoslam.io 30-day statistics show.
