US Senate Bill Proposes CBDC Ban in the US until 2031

The US Senate has included a provision to ban any state-issued CBDC’s in the “21st Century ROAD to Housing Act” bill.

The move largely favors dollar-backed stablecoins over CBDCs, with supporters citing security risks.

The US is the first country to issue such a ban, with others having already launched or in the process of adapting a CBDC.
